Raphaél G. Debbané, Lebanon


Raphaél Debbané (born 1938 in Lebanon) is Chairman of the Desco Holding SAL – Debbané Saikali Group (Beirut, Lebanon), President of Debbané for Modern Agriculture (Iraq) and Debbané pour l’Agriculture (Algeria). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Debbané Frères SAL (Lebanon) and Debbané & Company (Syria) as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Pesco Telecom SAL (Lebanon) and Intherpro (United Arab Emirates).

Since 1995 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Beirut Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. He is the president of the Agricultural Committee of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon as well as the president of the Business Councils Leadership Committee (BUCOLEC) of CCIABML. Furthermore he is a member and founder of the Lebanese Businessmen Association (RDCL) in Beirut. From 2000 to 2012 he was a member of the Board of International Advisors of the Lebanese American University (LAU), Beirut. He is past board member of the Lebanese National Security (CNSS).

As for his social activities, he has been a member of Rotary International since 1965, Honorary Consul of Italy in SAIDA, Lebanon from 1994-2009, member of the Government Council of the Sovereign Order of Malta – Roma, chancellor of the Association of the Knights of the Order of Malta, Lebanon, president of the Debbané Foundation, SAIDA, Lebanon.

The Debbané Saikali Group has its geographic presence in the Middle East & Africa. The group employs over 2,200 people in 12 countries and shows a total annual turnover of over 350 million USD. The Group is active in the following fields: Pesticides, fertilizers and seeds, marketing of agricultural produce, horticulture and landscaping, wireless broadband operators, building chemicals manufacturers, industrial heat and sound isolation, wine production and trading.
